Apple Crisp Recipe

I love making this Apple Crisp recipe in the fall. It tastes so good! Since apples are on sale right now, this is the perfect time to try out this recipe. Thanks to my mother for this delicious recipe.

Apple Crisp
8 cups sliced tart apples (use half golden delicious and half granny smith)
1/2 cup apple juice
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup flour
3/4 cup oatmeal
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
dash of salt
1 cup butter

Directions:
1. Peel and slice apples. Mound them in a casserole dish and sprinkle with apple juice.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, brown sugar, flour, oatmeal, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Soften butter and cut it into the dry ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
3. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is crisp. Serve with ice cream. Makes 10-12 servings.
