Frugal Indoor Activities for Children During Winter (Part 2)

Here are this week's Frugal Indoor Activities for Children During Winter. If you missed last week's ideas, head over here for Part 1. A few of these ideas I used for my Good Things Utah TV segment, and I decided to keep them on this Frugal Indoor Activities post series because they are so much fun! Plus, some of you may may have missed seeing them when I showed them on TV.

Straw-Threaded Necklace - Cut up straws into little pieces and thread them through a shoe string or yarn. If you don't have straws, use pasta noodles instead.

Mini Marshmallow Popper - Gather together some balloons, cups, and marshmallows to make these mini marshmallow poppers. Hold a contest to see who can pop marshmallows the farthest or get the most into a bowl that’s a few feet away.

Alphabet Cookies - Have fun in the kitchen making these alphabet cookies. You can work on letter identification and make a special message for someone in the family.

Paper Plate Ring Toss - Make your own homemade version of a carnival ring toss.

Marshmallow & Toothpick Buildings - Have your kids design their own three-dimensial buildings and designs using only mini marshmallows and toothpicks.

Glitter Slime - Your kids will have fun playing with this glitter slime. All you need is Borax, Elmer's Glue, food coloring, glitter, and water to create it.
